Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening en Español

This week and last were filled with fun activities where learners got the opportunity to go through the whole cycle of language learning. 2-5 Learners were asked to write sentences about their own “casas”. Later they had to find a partner and share it out to them. They were asked to speak first and the other listen and then switch roles. I was really proud of them for trying so hard! Kudos to all!  Here is a snippet of 3rd grades sharing activity.

I also want to give a shout out to this 4th-grade class for starting to take over my class. This learner wanted to do the morning routine and now everyone wants a turn! And let me tell you a 3rd-grade class is also doing it.. video coming in a few days! I couldn’t be happier 😀

4th and 5th grade have also been designing their casas, writing sentences about them and recording short videos so they can practice speaking in Spanish. I am attaching several videos so that you can see their progress. Learners who are more advanced wrote more complex sentences and coached struggling learners. This unit is heading to a very exciting culminating project. I can’t wait to tell you more about it, but we are negotiating details so stay in touch!
